Michael Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hello all, On the back of a Smartboard there's the main circuit board which powers the LED (Red, Orange, Green), but also where the USB cable connects via a USB type A male to type B female as illustrated below: Typically the wire is approx. 20cm in length, but all I can find is the above image which won't fit. You'd then plug in a standard USB type A male to B male, or in other words a printer cable. If anyone can find a USB type A male to type B female, there's a virtual pint waiting for you!
difinity Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Michael, is this any good ? Maybe i have misunderstood what you're after. Amazon.com: USB Adapter, Type A Male / Type B Female: Computers & Accessories
plexer Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 That's the same thing as he's linked which don't fit. Ben
plexer Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 How about a usb a to a cable instead? Tesco.com Ben
difinity Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Or just make your own. Cut the ends off the cables you need. Solder and heatshrink.
Michael Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Thanks for all the replies guys! I did think about a USB type A male to type A male. In theory this should work, but the only way of disconnecting is from the back of the PC itself. A small compromise I suppose
