Our music dept would love to buy licenses for Sibelius for a suite of our machines, but it is ridiculously expensive at about £60 per license.

 

Not to mention, we'd need to get midi keyboards too.

 

So, what do other smaller schools/middle schools do here?

Definitely worth a look. I'm a bit out of touch (Cakewalk last century), but DD initially on a notating mission found and got me to install MuseScore over the summer and it seems quite good.

Our music department have got yamaha keyboards that they can do normal work with headphones etc but they are also usb capable and work with Sibelius fine. We used to use midi ones but these give the teacher the best of both worlds.
