mattgrimley Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hi, Anybody used Home access plus...?? Indeedy! In fact, i'd venture to guess that we pretty much all do!! Your best bet is to take a look at the project home page on Codeplex where @nickbro has put the latest supported build and some links to an instructions PDF (under the documentation tab) and some other videos etc. Home Access Plus+ It's hard to answer your question, as i suspect you need to know a bit more about HAP+ in order to tell us what you want to do with it.. You can run it on a Windows Server 2008 install (it sits in IIS) - but to enable access to it from outside your school, you'd need to configure firewalls, SSL certificates etc.. which are all a bit beyond the installation instructions for HAP (Though you'll always get help and advice here) Have a read through the docs and perhaps have a play. swiftysw1 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Hi, Basically access at the school via ipads.. Then eventually access from home.. does it have to be installed on the DC??
nickbro Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 It works best on a member server as you need to give the users local logon rights for HAP+ to impersonate the user when accessing UNC resources.
swiftysw1 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 hi nickbro, Your not far from me? Im Whitland... Is it your product or do u know what you are on about for support.. Can I contact u directly?
swiftysw1 Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Hi, I have started along the route and got the certificate stage.. I have been to the https://www.startssl.com website, They created a free certificate. and exported it from from my browser; When I tried to import it onto the server I am getting the following error.. Certificate cannot be used as an SSL server certificate?? Any ideas? Si
nickbro Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Ideally you should IIS's certificate manager to create a CSR, then use it again to complete the request using the cert from Start SSL

swiftysw1 Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 How much do u charge as a setup fee??
nickbro Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I don't provide setup services, there is a company online that does though Levett Consultancy - Services
