Hi Everyone.

I've run in to a bit of a brick wall on this one, and was hoping for some help. Hopefully someone has already achieved this.

I have a 10.6.8 Server, and 10.6.8 clients. Our IT dept is now delivering Xcode, and from within WGM i have allowed both Xcode, and the iPhone Simulator.

The problem is that when they click build and run, the Simulator opens but they get a permissions error when their Application tries to run!

I have tried getting them to put in to a folder called "Xcode" in their home dirs, and allowing permission for any Apps in that folder to run - no joy, same error.

I have tried a shared area - no joy, same error.

Has anyone got this working? I'm thinking it must need permission to somewhere else to run the App in a simulator, but where?

Thanks for any advice.

I've not got access to a managed Apple network any more, but I once had a similar thing with Microsoft Office - all the apps would try to launch an Auto Update Daemon that I could never find, so pupils got a permissions error every time they opened Word!

All I can suggest is you hunt down the processes and support apps the iPhone simulator uses. I'd look all the way through the Developer apps folder, plus the 'Application Support' folder.

The 'Activity Monitor.app ' may help you track down what additional processes the simulator opens, if you view all processes hierarchically. If I remember properly, the 'Inspect process' button tells you where the process binary is stored on disk.

Hope this helps!

If you go to console after it fails it will point you to the unix app which is stopped application control. You then go in search of this app and drag it into WGM application control.
