I wonder if Apples legal department know of this?

Maybe the registered the Trade mark before the Koreans thought to!

Either way, it adds perspective to the Apple v Samsung argument me thinks.

This would seem to pre-date anything called iPad from Apple by around 8-9 years?

Apple had been working on the iPad since at least 2002 (if not before), although obviously it wasn't called the iPad back then. :)

Their is more than enough prior art to stomp out almost all of their claims, they could not even come up with their own name for their OS and had to licence iOS off Cisco along with 'iPhone'.

Apple is a packaging company, its like giving a florest credit for designing and creating every flour they use from scratch. Problem is the patent system is broken beyond belief and people are far to blinded to the past.

Would you give supermarkets credit, despite not being responsible for the production of the most of items they sell? Walmart and Tesco didn't become two of the largest retailers in the world by simply putting other peoples stuff on shelves. There's more to it than that!

So are Dell, HP, Sony, Acer, Toshiba etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Oops, the buttons are quite small on the mobile theme and I mistakenly hit edit instead of reply, fixed now. This is what I was meaning to say.

Some of them do have their own internal brands but effectively they just stock other people's stuff if you discount the bakery etc.

Agreed, most of them don't suffer from the same delusions of grandure though with the noteable exception of Sony.
