Got an interesting one. Windows 7. Default save location for applications seems to be the Documents Library. That is fine as it is redirected to the users document area on the server. Issue is if they try and save there it tells them "You can't save here. Choose another location". If they manually change to their document folder they can save. Office is ok as I have used the ADMX files to move them directly to their document area.

All library folders seem to be the same. Can't save to them but you can right click and create a new file so it isn't a permissions issue.

Any ideas how to change the default save location or fix the "can't save here" issue?

If the programs don't respond to GPOs or other similar settings for default locations the only way to provide it would be to set the working directory of each shortcut to where you want it saving on logon somehow.

Exactly, if you can change the working directory in the shortcuts that point to them (i.e. if you have a redirected start menu) then pointing the working directory to h:\ or whatever it will default to there when the user tries to save something. Edited by SYNACK

Damnit. No. Created a notepad shortcut that had n:\documents as the "Start in" path and it stills opens at the Documents Library. It does only seem to be the library that is the issue as if you expand the Documents library it shows the Users Documents folder underneath and that they can save in. Grrrr
