How do i see what classes a student is in?

 

i'm trying to basically work out who their ICT teacher is from a report i'm importing into a program i wrote to create the user accounts.

 

AD Accounts / exchange accounts create folder.. all those bits work and are done. i just don't know much about sims and what to add to the report?

Has the school been promoted? At our school the new timetable doesn't go "live" until Sept 3rd, so any report showing ICT teacher would show last year's teacher.

Are you doing this as a one-off, "hey little Jonny got Mr Brown for ICT this year" or are you trying to import it into something?

@matt40k it is for importing, into my own program.

@clareq no, but i can use last years data for testing my program and then just run it when the school is promoted.

Easiest way is probably to do Reports>Student List>Class List then select classes of a teacher.

If you pick out each IT teacher in turn you can export the lists out to Excel.

If you dont change the date chances are the lists will all be empty as classes will have no memeberships at the moment. If your Academic Manager person has done their thing, if you change the effective date to after the start of the new term, (its done via the Settings Button) the lists will correctly show next years lists.

i really don't use sims much!

 

when i run a csv report it trys to make it in the root of C:\ any way to make this more sensible

@Linfit - you can't run those from the command line. So it's not ideal.

@oxide54 - With the reporting engine you can set where it goes.

tbh not really bothered the program is actually running commandreporter.exe so that works fine, its just irritating when try to design the report as you then have to quit and restart sims "as administrator"

And you put a sub-query on the class sub-table, with that little red icon on the right, to pick ICT or whatever....

as it is no. it gave me all the students but nothing in the classes bit.

 

just trying the red icon thing.
