Impero Deploy MSI issue, not finding Network

Hi all;

 

Had a strange old problem today with Impero 3.5. One of my technican's PC, all of a sudden had no machines on the console (blank)

 

Upon restarting the Impero console all machines returned but had noticed when going to the Deploy MSI option Impero does not automatically show machines in the network:

 

 

Selecting Add Domain or Manaul Add works, and checking AD connection under Impero Server returns a successful connection. All machines / server running the client exhibit the same issue (doesn't find defualt network.)

 

Any ideas ?

Impero Deploy wizard picks up list of machines using same methord as going to entire network so thing that stops them appearing is usually either network is vlan'd or turn of network browse discovery..

We did VLAN the network recently on the core switch (although only on Wireless - Impero Server and all PCs are on the same VLAN) Also I have noticed that Network Discovery is turned off on our Impero Server (which is strange since we made no changes to the Server either) - should this be turned back on?

Network browse would need to be turned on from the same pc that is running the MSI deploy Tool.

Assuming Vista, 7 or 8 Network Discovery would need to be turned on in the clients too. Why not deploy the MSI through GPO instead, much less haphazard with detection.

Ok you don't need network discovery if don't mind not get list prepopulated as then as OP said you can just connect to domain using our app and select the machines.

 

Also of course can deploy by GPO but remember as a software developer we have to account for lots of different network setups and there are some schools out there that have 400 PCS and no AD domain for example...
