Powerline ethernet adapters

Slightly on a side note, but how do you find the powerline adapters? Do they run as nice as "normal" cable, or do you find they get spikes etc etc?

One of mine is faulty.

Were yours made by ZyXEL by any chance? Mine died after about a year (possibly due to how extremely hot they got). I think I might get some 500Mbps TP-Link PowerLine adapters this time.

It connects my router to the TV and I only use it for iPlayer, so it's difficult to know how it compares with cable. I'm pleased with it, running a cable would have been impractical.

It says Made in China RHS on the label. It does seem to run warm and may have been the cause of the cap. going. I'm now only turning them on when needed.

The only one I tried (Belkin) died after about a year as well

 

Worked 100% until that point but as has been said, they are just probably not engineered properly to last and prob due to being combined PSU/Device with no proper cooling

Not in my case. It's only used to connect the tv to the router for iPlayer, so no hardship to flick a couple of switches.
