DeeGee Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Now then, We're having a block rebuilt. It's the PE block. We'll not be able to give them a network connection for a few months. We can give them a laptop, though. What we're looking for is a means to take registers offline with Lesson Monitor and maybe sync the laptop with the main database at the end of the day. Any ideas? Cheers
Edu-IT Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I'm not sure this is possible. Isn't the very idea of Lesson Monitor to be able to do registers in real time? There are other solutions out there that will allow you to mark a register offline but I am not sure Lesson Monitor has this functionality.
DeeGee Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 We may be able to use 3G or WiFi, possibly.
CAM Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 If you can provide an Internet connection of some sort then you can use SIMS Learning Gateway to do the registers. Otherwise they will just have to do whatever it is they do to register kids on the sports field. Of course, if you are able to get Internet access there they can probably get network too.
Cache Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Groupcall Emerge would achieve it (I keep considering it for our PE department) but has extra licencing costs associated with it.

Cheers I think your thinking of Teacher Desktop where the machine had a local database and it sync'd with the central one. It's old and not supported any more.
