Yay. The wicked witch is dead. Try IE9 its decent. I do take your point about browser versions. We have all sorts of messy web apps here some of which only support IE7/8 and Firefox13, some that only run right under chrome and some that need IE9 to work their best. What the hell happened to this universal cloud rubbish they were going on about when every yahoo developer writes the web portals to solely push their own personal browser agenda. You end up with a brower per app at which point you may as well just have a native app.

I've found IE9 to be nothing but buggy and unstable... :(

Guess it's down to the sites that you visit and which way their devs have customised it. I use mostly older computers and 9 is the quickest and most efficient for me with the sites that I visit. There are still plenty of devs pushing their own Firefox only or Chrome only views about design. Then you get messy sites that fail in all browsers and rely on the browser to cover up as much of their fail as possible.

I think the real problem is that the web as a whole is buggy and unstable. People bag on MS for Windows, have you seen some of the atrocities commited by jquery monkeys and the rest who embed every javascript API they can lay their hands on into a page thats code bloat. It does not help that even the web 'standards' organisations have broken up and one is now a moving target running through the wilderness of the internet like a stoat on e and caffine.

All the browsers have their issues and strengths but using the words standards when refering to the web is a bad joke.

I mainly use Chrome now after ditching FF many versions ago..

Occasionally I'll use IE9 - mainly for anything MS Related..

Used Safari for a while but wasn't overly impressed with it

Nothing wrong with IE9, I made a switch to Waterfox at home though as it's rather fast. :)

Capita will need to start supporting Firefox properly though with only one browser left on Windows. Last I checked they only supported up to FF4.5!
