mudcow007 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 right... some of you may of seen i was ridding one of our servers of its dhcp responsibilities yesterday, today im going to demote it although it will still continue to be a terminal server (for a week or so) can anyone see any problems with this?
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 It should be fine. If you want you could unplug the network cable and see if anyone complains that something isnt working, then if you've missed something its just a case of plugging the cable back in rather than promoting it back up etc
mudcow007 Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 arnt you off migweb?! anyways, well i will have to do it tonight as the TC is in use during the day only 5 users which i cant seem to get off sh1trix so a member server will be ok running tc?
zag Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 You should have no problem demoting it, I've done it loads of times
altecsole Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 You may have an issue with Terminal Server licensing if it's running on that server. You may have to point the server at itself, and also point your other TS at it too.
mudcow007 Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 cool i aint been brave enough yet to do the change. The licensing is held on another server (thankfully) i think i will be doign this tonight thanks for the replies
