Sorry for shouting

Now that cheap HDMI-VGA convertors are available http://www.edugeek.net/forums/raspi-general-chat/98299-cheap-hdmi-vga-convertor.html this means any old monitor can be used as a RaspberryPi display

 

So I'm pleading for all Edugeekers everywhere in the middle of/thinking about disposing/sending off for recyling of any old LCD displays(even I don't run CRTs any more) to pause and either offer them up to other people on here or keep them in a shed at the bottom of the school football field until they get a load of Pii in and start teaching computing with them
