Hi,

Trying to configure smoothwall to work with the UPS.

smoothwall wants the ip address and port number.

How do I find the port number it needs?

I've looked all through the web console on the apc, direct console into the apc and cant find a port number to use.

Only ports I see are the standard port 23 and 80 for telnet/http.

The model number is AP9619 if it helps.

Thanks

What are you tring to achive?

Signaling of power failure to smoothwall?

If so then I think you may be barking up the wrong treee with the AP9619 which is a management card and not ( as far as I understand ) a signaling card.

Does the UPS haev Serial/USB ? as they are the common signaling interfaces on APC UPS.

The network management cards make the ups available on your network so that multiple connected host devices can see its status.

You connect via USB.

Simple signaling is not supported on the network interface, that requires PowerChute.

Oh right. Thanks. My bad.

So what's the network ups settings for in smoothwall? Do some UPS's support signalling over the network?

Thanks all.

From memory the network ups setup in smoothwall is out of date and there aren't plans atm to update it to support newer things like the APC management interfaces.

I've brought up your point about the APCUPSD demon being out of date. I'm awaiting some feedback and will let you know when I have further information,

I think the network parts ( just looking at the screen ) is to send power fail warnings to slave smoothwalls.

Rob

It's the bit under master ups ip address, it should be able to get status from a network ups but the version of the apcupsd is too old.
