[bug/error] Email notifications for every reply to a thread

i seem to be getting email notifications for every time someone posts in a thread (at this moment in time its this one: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/97493-ive-not-seen-rain-like-4.html)

 

I havent been reading the thread, normally i only get new post notifications if i have previously read the old ones.

To be honest - I don't mind this!

Sometimes I cant always get to the site and the emails via my phone help me keep an eye on whats being said..

how about adding being able to reply to a post by replying to the email notification that would be nifty

That would be a very nifty idea!

Go to Settings > Messaging & Notification > Default Thread Subscription Mode

 

Change that setting accordingly, so you receive the updates daily, or weekly or not at all. UNLESS you specifically click on the thread and ask to be notified using the 'Thread Tools' Menu.

 

In your case though, you maybe subscribed to a specific 'FORUM' and that is why your getting so many notifications (if you haven't even read that thread)

I want instant notifications though, not weekly or daily. Previoiusly i would be emailed notification that someone had replied to a subscribed thread, and that would be all the notifications i would get until i then visited the thread.

 

Although it seems to have settled down now so Im not sure if SZH has fixed or changed anything?

Sorry I just edited my post, but thinking you might be subscribed to a forum? and that is why your getting all of the notifications from every thread under that forum?

it was only subscribed threads it was happening for, in fact, it was actually only that rain thread it happened to. I got an email every time there was a reply.
