Kyle Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 One of our staff needs to run a GOTO Assist session with a 3rd part support company. When she tries to connect to the support session IE 9 just locks up but if i run IE as administrator is loads fine. It does prompt to run a add which i downloaded manually which is GoToAssist.exe. I have tried to run this on its own but it fails. Any ideas or experiences with GoTo Assist.?
strawberry7 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Does the GoToAssist.exe fail when you're logged in as an administrator? As a workaround have you considered using something like Firefox just to see if it gets you working for now?
strawberry7 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 If you're happy to give your user local admin access to the machine then that might sort the problem. You can do that by logging in as the admin, right click my computer, go to manage, go to local users and groups and then add the network user name to the local admin group. I give all of my staff local admin access so that they can install programs and it sorts a lot of problems. Sometimes they accidentally install rubbish but very rarely and it certainly solves more problems than it causes.
