TechSupp Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Just possibly found out our wifi issue in two classrooms, someone has an unsecurred wifi in a house (no idea which one) nearby and the netbooks are jumping and connecting to it instead of the school Ruckus wifi. How can I stop this happening apart from going around with my phone scanning the networks untill I find the right house! Stacks of other wifi but they are all secured and saw a netbook that had connected to the unsecured one myself.
Domino Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Click on "Manage network connections." It can be found on the left under "Tasks." Look for and click on "Manage wireless networks" instead if applicable. A window titled "Manage Wireless Networks" should appear. Right-click your security-enabled network's name in the window's list of networks. Select "Properties." Click on the checkbox next to "Connect to a more preferred network if available." Make sure the box becomes unchecked. Worth a go?

Michael Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 The easiest solution is to track down the property and talk to the neighbour. I'm pretty sure they'd be happy for you to secure it as required.
