chill3r Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Hi Guys, Me again ...... Im having a little problem with setting up a sorted shared area for students - i want the studentsa to be able to create folders, files and rename etc - but unable to do the same to other user created folders .. Is this something i can achive with AFP in server.app using ACL ? Ive tried all sorts of configurations - but it wither locks off full access or it seems to give them full access any help would be great Thanks
HodgeHi Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 you probably want Creator Owner rights. Are you using Lion Server or 10.6 in an AD-OD setup? 1

HodgeHi Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 I have just had a look at this... Go to File Sharing and create a sharepoint. Change the Everyone Else permission to no access. Once the sharepoint is created go to the Hardware section, click on the server and then click on Storage. Under the storage find your shared folder and then click on the cog below. Click Edit Permissions. The permissions I have used are: Everyone Group: Read, Write, Inheritance, just This folder only is ticked. Creator Owner Group (to find this user just type Owner): Read, Write, Full inheritance (all boxes ticked). See if this works for you. 1
