APC UPS Keeps Beeping

You can't disconnect the batteries in a UPS to stop it beeping, it would just beep complaining it needs batteries then...

 

Well, then the users would have to get used to the sound till i replace it with a new one .. thanks Dude

Actually I am not planning on replacing it, I just wanted to disconnect it so the beeping sound stop, and I am Already going to Purchase a new one cuz its time for this one to take a break

 

If you yank the batteries it will just go to bypass and won't be doing anything. The test button might shut it up, ideally get another one quickly or get someone in who understands it to reconfigure it to beep less via the managment interface.

I agree some of the bigger UPSes are definitely a two person job to replace the battery!

Just a word of warning - the Smart UPS 10000 can be a pita - I had one at my last place which was over cooking its batteries (by a lot) - in the end it cooked itself and died one evening. The replacement then cooked a PDU!

Had stacks of APC gear and it has been the best stuff we have been able to get a hold of here. Most of ours have LCD screens and mute buttons which quite the alarms.
