Hi,

I couldnt find anything relevent to what i am looking for. Basically we have a shared pupil drive to allow pupils to save stuff on it when they want teachers to look at the work/assignments.

Lately we have been having problems with pupils saving crap i.e games, inappropriate content etc.

What i wanted to do was have a separate folder for each department in the pupil shared drive. Create individual security groups for each department for pupils.

Then when a pupil needs to save work for teacher to look over, the teacher can assign that pupil permissions to a folder on the shared pupil drive. Is there an application (needs to connect to AD Server 2008 R2), where staff can enter the pupils username and then choose a particular folder to assign permissions to.

I hope this makes sense.

Cheers,

Why dont you set up multiple security groups and assign them to the folders. Next, setup a custom mmc and assign priveledges to the member of staff. Now install RSAT on the teacher computer and give the staff member the mmc. Now just show the staff member how to add a student to a group in AD.

Windows 7 RSAT can be a real pain to deploy on a LAN so could be tricky.
