SimpleSi Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Just tried my 1st import of the summer season into SIMS of the EProfile data. It only inported data for 37 out of 39 pupils and errored on 2 of them saysing somethign along the lines of "pupil Fred Bloggs with UPNxxxyyyyzzzzz was already on the system so I couldn't be bothered to import tyhe data" (or similiar words ) Anyone else had this and know what needs doing to correct it (I went as far as looking at the 1st mark scheme and their didn't seem to be any data fpor the 2 pupils in question so I don't think I can ignore it like all the other error msgs against the other pupils! - every year something goes wrong with this - and I've got 4 more schools to do!) Rawns Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 We saw a similar issue last year which was down to pupils who had unique characters in their name (Ő, š, ŗ, ē, ă) and SIMS was not happy importing said characters as it turns out the XML file's generate by eProfile were using the encoding standard of iso-8859-1 and SIMS uses utf-8. We had to edit the eProfile XML files and manually change the encoding and reimport the file which seemed to do the trick. 1

vikpaw Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 no -whoes website? Si Presumably where you download your CTFs from isn't it the S2S website : School to School (s2s) - Schools
SimpleSi Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 The CTF data comes from the Suffolk EProfile prog not from a website. Si
