Server 2008 (Standard) - WDS Drivers Option Missing

Hi!

 

As you may have seen from my previous thread, I'm just starting to use WDS on my Server 2008 Standard Box.

 

I've managed to install Windows 7 from it on a test machine and have now done the same with a Windows XP image.

 

What I'd like to do next it add some driver packages but the Drivers option (as shown from the attached image) is not there.

 

 

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong now please?!

The Drivers node only appears on the Server 2008 R2 version, if you are on 2008 R1 it will not be there

What you will need to do is add MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) onto the server and use that in combination to WDS to inject drivers into your images

Theres a whole sticky about setting up MDT from scratch under the OS deployment forum section. Good place to start if you haven't used it before. Its not too bad and allows much more flexibility in the long run as you can add application installs and all manner of customizations. Read on here for useful tips
