exim Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Hello. I'm after some software that will record over the weekend so pretty much just over 3 days worth. Need to record nature stuff. I have a sony cam with USB stream output connected to a laptop - pretty much like a webcam. 30GB free on hard disk. Don't mind if it splits the file to chunks - that would be better for processing, and some control over file size/bitrate too ideally. Tried VLC - file size way to big and no options to change. Also tried camtasia - didn't work at all with the camera - must be a driver issue. So any ideas guys?
Marc-Engineer Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 You would be better using a security recorder no problem with any of the above and it will only record on movement. Marc Projector Engineer
exim Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 A DVR security unit would be ideal, but this was a last minute request for an event this weekend. In a sorta compromise though I've tried webcamXP which has CCTV like features - good so far. Fingers crossed it works OK.
Geoff Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Try Dorgem - Open Source Webcam Capture Application Ancient but it works
