Does anyone know how to do it WITHOUT breaking it?

Some bright spark decided to put the wires INSIDE the monitor stand, which I think you're supposed to do anyway, but you can't get it open again...

The monitor itself is fine. The problem this class is having hapened somewhere else, and the fix was a brand new computer...

But, I have to replace it to say that I tried and I'd rather do it without smashing the bejezus out of it.

The back is some sort of snap fit hoobajoob, I can't remember whether the connectors were flat [no removal] or tapered [yes removal]...

Is there a trick to it? Or do I just have to break it?

I took all the covers off in the end as they were a right pain, they're just a clip so pull them directly downwards and they'll come off, don't remember any of ours snapping but they did have a habit of falling off at random intervals :p

retrevo.com do a service manual for it. I haven't looked at it because it's a 'Type your e-mail address here to download etc' and I don't want my e-mail address spammed.

Might be what you need.

I've looked at it... It's one page.

And it's not a manual, it's a spec sheet.

A bit off topic but 10minutemail.com is your friend for this type of thing.

The only thing I can think of is that yours may have gone brittle.

Well, it has been in the same place for years...

I kind of left it alone for a while. To try and find the correct dark art to release the contained cable demons.

It's starting to sound like they're summoned with naught but force of will.

Le EDIT: Defeated again... I hate these monitors.

Le EDIT MK.III: Sucess! Through the use of "the words of curse" and a screwdriver I managed to get the casing off.

Turns out, you aren't supposed to... 2 of the connectors are now broken. Oh well.
