JATSO Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi, Anyone out know how to update an RM Bios using rmimage. I have been given by RM 2 files, 12345.img and rmimage.com Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Geoff Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 If its anything like every other BIOS update I've ever done you need to put those files on a boot disk/USB stick and boot into MSDOS then run the .com file from the command line.
JATSO Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 Copied the files to a usb boot disc, booted into dos and ran RMIMAGE and then a menu followed the instructions and the rmimage reports that the file is created ok, reboot the PC but the bios is not updated. Any ideas? Thanks Mark
Arthur Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 RMImage is for writing the .img file containing the BIOS update to a floppy disk. Since you are using a USB flash drive you need to do it a different way. i.e. Format your USB flash drive using RMPrepUSB. Instructions on how to do this can be found here. Extract the files from within the .img file using 7-Zip and copy them to your flash drive (overwriting any that already exist).
