SIMS InTouch Queries?

Hi all,

 

Long time no visit! I've searched and searched but I've not found anything relevant to my query.

 

Our school has used KKS (Keep Kids Safe) fro a long time now and we've been approached with an attractive offer from SIMS to take up their InTouch system.

 

Main querioes are: what does In Touch do that KKS doesn't? What does KKS do that InTouch doesn't?

Never used KKS but we had Intouch for a while. It didnt work out for us because at the time we had quite a poor spec server for SIMS. Intouch allows staff to email parents and students directly from inside SIMS. They can also receive emails directly from parents into their SIMS inbox. You can also have text messages sent to parents from within SIMS and parents can text back.

I would recommend that you have a decent spec server for adding Intouch no matter what Capita tell you the minimum spec is. We wer above the minimum spec but adding intouch caused SIMS to start crawling and the simplest of tasks would take ages. Removing Intouch cured this.

We may try Intouch again in the future as we did like the product but for now we use schoolcomms.
