googlemad Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Has anyone with Google Apps domain come across the following before: Share a document with someone outside the domain, i.e. a normal GMail address and tick to send the email notification But the notification never arrives and the sender gets the following message: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: [email protected] Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Relaying not permitted (3.7): [email protected] (state 17). ----- Original message ----- X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=google.com; s=20120113; h=mime-version:x-originating-ip:message-id:date:subject:from:to :content-type:x-gm-message-state; bh=nGmeUW9tWeBg5fIRWHMEhdJG9pM2q6+oxlHBnrpkQ3s=; b=gCsq3GPi4V7XzYPqCTj+M/3WEbpjKk7TteQHXT1EWSZo/bea0OTgPKXe53sLvHsRU3 ukWFrU/8IsYo9BvvU/XLgBEbLpnIJxqJxflvC5P5tMZBOLSqlYGM+Kl56fwpMBUdodtm u/5dcoLxfDed1AnK0QWQhYo4+ODEELBtysNSoxqAoaizyVZh2ex2d/q3hrsk59jry7Ao cpgjNjwb7dQpIrv0giQ1zZQ/LbM8PpYr3EVyudoOiatdjPt/KE5WZv/mcZCJs1GCR3gu dmxz5ftOTKTZrKLY6vgnEOeycQw8nixOZwhiTgqB5BFcGilXaz7s6fTykT76apfidcBA Dhgg== MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.236.178.3 with SMTP id e3mr8167277yhm.3.1337590348889; Mon, 21 May 2012 01:52:28 -0700 (PDT) X-Originating-IP: 193.60.199.37 Message-ID: <[email protected]> Date: Mon, 21 May 2012 08:52:28 +0000 Subject: SSD ([email protected]) From: "Internal Sender Name (Google Docs)" To: [email protected] Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=20cf303f6ad499c08c04c0880562 X-Gm-Message-State: ALoCoQlRrtmNA75qyJ34eDcOW26adXcZX3b2iQFLH78ct+CTDYs7fnGXJYAyxdcsxlGoSQTbWRP6 I've shared an item with you: SSD https://docs.google.com/document/d/1b1JCyP5iGE0Qvd-JP4szWcdfmhHOXja5UCRFnjQpI8w/edit It's not an attachment -- it's stored online at Google Docs. cromertech Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 May seem like a silly question but have you allowed out-of-domain sharing for your organisation. Under settings drive and docs, sharing
googlemad Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Yes, I can also see the document in my personal GMail account Docs section, just the notification email delivery fails
cromertech Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 It could be SPF as in this post Google Groups but I would think that would prevent any outgoing mail.
mavhc Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Sounds like google is trying to send it via your email server, which doesn't permit this relaying. Who are you using for email, google or someone else?
