How to set different wallpapers on student accounts and teacher accounts?

Hi, I am currently new to this sort of thing so I may not be clear, We have some students and teachers in our school but the headmaster said that there should be different wallpapers for students and teachers.. how would I do that? so for example I want a tiny person for the student wallpaper and a big person for the teacher account and also I have some students that I want to set a different wallpaper for them (Multimedia Student) Currently we are running on CC4 and Windows 7. I dont really know much about networking as Ive just started and Im new to RM :/ so the user account files are stored on the skool server and they are under StudentUserProfiles and there is another folder called StudentWork

We have a vanilla network and we do what you have described:

 

Students: Blue wallpaper

Staff: Green wallpaper

Administrator: Red wallpaper

 

We use BGInfo to put the wallpapers up, add a central graphic and add text at the top right of the wallpaper [station name, username etc]

We use a logon script to call a BGInfo configuration file [bGInfo.BGI for example]

 

The BGI file holds the details about whatever options you would like to set for your users. I will post more information tomorrow if you need it but I would recommend having a look at BGInfo yourself [maybe on a standalone machine?] I found out how to use it by experimentation [and some help from Edugeek]

This was handled in CC3 by a package called Wallpaper and Logon Bitmaps - this package also works on CC4 - if you ask RM Support they should be able to give you a copy.

 

The package itself allows you to allocate a bunch of different bitmaps and alllocate them to different classes of users.

You create a SFX Archive to replace the wallpaper on the computer (located in %ProgramFiles%/Research machines/Network Management/Desktop/*.jpg can not remeber the exact name of hand) or just change it in the Policy Settings in the RMMC for each user type. The wallpaper is Installed by RM Desktop Components, However this is an essential package as it installs other stuff too.
