How do people do controlled assessment on RM CC4? I need to stop pupils opening anything with a spell check.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

CC3 here - but the technique should be the same on CC4.

We created the following:

New User Type - dedicated to control test users with locked down registry settings, no internet or shared area etc etc.

New dedicated control test user for each pupil. All locked down. We enable and disable these accounts when the control tests take place.

So students use their normal users day to day but for control test lessons use their special control yest user acounts. Seems to work fine an satisfies all the rules of control testing.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

We have created dedicated accounts for controlled assessment sessions, with only WordPad available in the program sets.

The problem I'm coming up against is that when they return to their work, on double clicking their saved .RTF files, Word grabs this by default. At that point, they get a spell checker and everyone LOSES THEIR MIND.

Does anyone know the registry entry to push RTF files back to WordPad?

Any other tips (preferably related to CC4 and controlled assessments)?

Thanks :)

For anyone else looking, I ended up adjusting the User Policy for the CA accounts to force association of RTF files with WordPad by adding a registry fragment (pastebin.com/8ndGWUDJ) in Custom Settings.

I also applied "Disable right click on the desktop and in Windows Explorer" in the General category, to prevent users changing the file association.

Also,

Surely not a response to my post?

Thanks RM :spy:
