enjay Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Anyone know a way around Win7's little quirk that you need to plug headphones/speakers in before opening an application if you want sound? Many people often open programs before they plug headphones in, especially if it is music composition software like Sibelius, and then have to close and re-open the application before they can play any sound.
adhutton Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Did you ever find a solution to this problem? Andrew
nab Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 We have a suite of PC's running sibelius in the music block. There are headphone inputs on the front of the pc's for convenience, however the kids love pulling the headphones out frequently from there, and then the same problem you mentioned applies.. Instead I've opened the back panel where other in's and outs exist and attached a headphone splitter (then reattached the panel to prevent the kids pulling it out). This way they can put headphones in whenever they like and the sound will always work, because the splitter is recognised by the soundcard as being a headphone. Guess you've fixed the problem by now, but for anyone else there's a solution =) 1
