6Foot2 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Hi all. I just wanted to alert other WDS users to a problem I came across today. I logged on to our WDS and found that there were 8 Windows updates waiting to be applied [all critical]I allowed them all to deploy. Upon restart I found that the 'Windows Deployment Services Server' service would not start. I am still looking at what updates were applied and what might have caused the problem. I restored C:\ and Services State from backup and restarted the server. Happily normal service has now been restored. As a word to the wise: Check your WDS servers to make sure that they are still viable. HTH.
Gatt Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 My WDS is all fine here.. and not seen anything in the MS Revision Bulletin email this morning.... Could've just been a coincidence...
