bondbill2k2 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Monday monday monday......not thinking completely straight today and I'm currently configuring our Netgear NVX NAS to have 4 shares tech resources, backups, staff resources and student resources. For obvious reasons I want to secure each area so using the AD integration would be ideal. I've set security mode to Domain with ADS domain type set and joined, in the DC specify section I have put the IP of our curric DC. We run two Vlans with two DC's one admin, one curric the NAS has two NICS one configured for each Vlan. The NAS is picking up security groups from the admin DC but doesn't appear to pick up any groups from the curric Dc. It does however pick up Curric AD Users but I cannot figure out why it will not pick up our curric AD groups have I missed something obvious?
bondbill2k2 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 (edited) Sorry to bump this but we have just been using the NAS as a backup but would like to use it as a file server again. Again I've encountered AD sync problems frontview shows user accounts picked up from AD but doesn't show our security groups from any OU. Edited June 29, 2012 by bondbill2k2
m25man Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Submit your problem to the Forum at Readynas.com where you will find the developers and 3rd level support gurus loitering. The FAQ list is here, ReadyNAS.com Wiki >> ReadyNAS NVX The NVX is a great little box and more than capable for SMB's and the smaller businesses, they claim up to 30k AD users can be handled on it but I dont think the tiny processor running your NVX is going to cope with the average school AD we only use 3200/4200's in our installations.
