gcsouth Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I am ICT manager in a primary school that is currently undergoing a complete rebuild. We don't currently have an ICT suite but will have one in the new build. I am looking at options for desking in the new suite, bearing in mind that three of the four walls will be constructed entirely of glass! Therefore the conventional benching around the outside is not really an option. Was thinking of islands in the middle of the room. Would also like the suite to be 'multi-purpose' and therefore considering the desking solution where the screens can be put away into the desk. Ideally would like this to be electronic rather than manual. Does anyone know of or has anyone used a company that have successfully provided such a solution? Thanks!
localzuk Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 One company you should speak to is learn-space design. They make bespoke furniture depending on your needs. http://www.learn-spacedesign.co.uk/index.php One thing to remember is that islands take up a huge amount of space for relatively few computers.
Andrew_C Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 The sponsor of the Windows forum here on Edugeek might be a good place to look...
Ric_ Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 As Andrew C says, Isis Concepts are a great company. I just turned a small Sixth form room into a dual-use classroom and the desks are of an amazing quality.
