MrPstv Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Morning all, Looking for a bit of help here please, Problem is i cant access our wireless web interface console (DLink wireless managed switch), i can ping the ip address and all is well!! but no joy when using web browser, i bet this is something really simple that i have not thought of!! Would you recommend restarting the wireless switch? Help much appreciated.
chazzy2501 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 try your proxy settings, make sure you have an exception for your switches ip. or a range.
chazzy2501 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 sure it has a web interface? try and putty to it.
Mehmet Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 How are you trying to access the web interface? Are you plugged directly into one of the switch ports?
MrPstv Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Directly plugging into the switch is for initial setup, i have accessed the web interface since last summer,we had a power outage recently and this might of caused this problem.
MrPstv Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 sorry forgive me for my ignorance but putty to it?
MrPstv Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Ping ok!! Putty is an ssh client. Can you ping the thing? Ben

Have you tried accessing the web interface directly through a switch port or not?
plexer Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Sorry I now see you had said in your original post you can ping it. What model is it? Ben
MrPstv Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 No, not yet. Have you tried accessing the web interface directly through a switch port or not?
plexer Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 You should be able to telnet, web & ssh into it so I would try one of the other two methods. Ben
Mehmet Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 No, not yet. Well if you could do that then it would help narrow down the problem... and you'd also be able to check any security configurations on the switch.
