Homework management

Instead of using moodle im looking for a free open source alternative for children to see there current homework set by teachers allowing them to download and then submit once completed .

 

Is there any software out there that does that ??

 

Only one ive found is myHWT - The Homework Tool , obviously in German which i wasnt worried about ( i could translate with a bit of help with google ) but im having trouble connecting it to LDAP ( which isnt normally a problem , currently using 6 ldap Php applications )
