I've always questioned the point of "trick shots" which is just where various objects are put on the table - anyone could do half the entire catalog of a trick shotter and the other half just don't need them.

i'm not a pool trick shot afficianado, so maybe what he's doing can and is done by other top players, but i didn't think it was physically possible for the cue ball to pick up speed like that on some of those banana shots [sorry don't know the technical term], seriously impressed

Oh aye, realising how it's done is as simple as making a 2 pence piece roll by smacking it downwards at the back. That very same principle applied to a ball pretty much makes a majority of the trick-shot repartee and the cloth-ripping amatuers (myself included) when getting slightly too cocky in a pub match. But when it works, damn does it fell good!

 

Haven't youtubed any trickshot stuff to be honest, but used to love watching features on the TV before the internet could handle more than an animated GIF - the likes of Mike Massey (great name for it too) used to keep me entertained for hours.
