Weird and annoying Google Chrome 'Utility' issue

Recommended Posts

We have Google Chrome deployed to all staff computers, as it inter-operates better with Google Apps than IE, but we are constantly having issues with zombie 'Utility' processes within Chrome's Task Manager. It looks like Flash or something similar is crashing, but staying within the task list and chewing through CPU (eg. I had 3 of these processes, between them using 90% of the CPU power of my machine).

The only similar issue I can see occurred many many versions ago, (we're on current stable edition).

Has anyone else had this? If so, have you figured out how to stop it happening?

We're no closer to knowing what is causing it either. We've gone through all sorts of individual settings etc... Its completely random. Sometimes I'll have 4 of them as soon as I open Chrome, other times I will get 1 appear over the course of an entire day.

I run the dev release at home, and have never seen this issue, so I'm hoping a new release (we're due one soon I think) will resolve it!
