LukeC Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Has anyone got ISCI to work with FOG, i have mounted the ISCSI drive to /fogimages/image1/ and set it up on the FOG GUI as a storage node. I get this error unsure were to start looking really "Unable to start task Unable to located master node from storage group." thanks in anticipation
LukeC Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 What permissions should be on the /images dir for FOG to be able to deploy and Pull images?
morganw Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I think you may also need .mountcheck files in the images directory, the easiest way to check is to just what's present and the permissions on a default install with ls -al. I wouldn't have thought that having the storage on iSCSI is a good idea from a performance standpoint. I would virtualise the main sever (I imagine you have some kind of hypervisor if you have an iSCSI box?) and then setup one or two physical storage nodes that the clients will take the images from. If you don't have any old workstations or servers for the physical storage nodes then you could use additional VMs but use local storage instead of iSCSI.
LukeC Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 .mntcheck files missing all sorted now seems to be working happily performance seems to be okay at the moment, will be trying more clients soon.
supercharged831 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 @LukeC hi, how did you put .mntcheck files into new images directory? many thanks
