TechSupp Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Anyone tried to set StopMotionPro Animation software up on their network?
FN-GM Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Anyone tried to set StopMotionPro Animation software up on their network? Yep done it with no issues. Took about 10 mins from start to end. What do you want to know? 1
TechSupp Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) did the location for the registration dat file have to be the same location when you have to specify the path relative to the server and relative to the client? If it does...think I solved my problem! Ah! Just read a network install doc I just googled and it does so think thats my problem, now presume I need to re-install on the server to reset the two paths to be the same location so it re-creates the msi file? TechSupp Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Would have done if it was there to read in the first place! Ended up googling for it. As said the install is pretty straight forward and quick, just not quite clear on the locatiin point and it did not name the dat file. Anyway presume you have never done anything like that? I admit I make mistakes, (usualy trying to please too many people by doing too many jobs in too little time) just glad there are sensible people on here like FN-GM willing to offer help me get things back on track.
round2it Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 yes we all have made mistakes (Me more than most) Why didn't the software come with an install manual thats a bit poor. Totally agree trying to please too many people by doing too many jobs in too little time sometimes bites you on the backside. To be honest when was the last time I RTFM for an install or any piece of hardware. (think it was for corel draw and it was not worth the read)
round2it Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 After looking at the StopMotionPro website I would like to say Sorry to TECHSUPP as he was right no manual to read.!!!!!!!!!!
TechSupp Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 No manual on the site but if you google for one its in the downlads section and does exist, all 20 pages of a network install which I would have read. Anyway just remoted in to the server and I think it should be sorted now, changed the paths to the same location and hey presto can see the correct dat file being created and the msi being recreated (just needed to run the Network Setup file that was installed). Unfortunately thats as far as I can go at the moment as for some reason cant start a remote session on one of the PC's someone kindly did not turn off! Ah well thats a Monday job but confident it should work now.
TechSupp Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Job tested and it now works! One simple tweak and alls well that ends well.
