Burzum Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hi people, i found this forum while trying to google a problem thats occured with steam. I made a new superuser account from the admin account (the only account it had, where al programs where running) Starting in admin nor superuser steam wont fire up, just gives a error message that running steam in compitability mode is not recomended. I have read the post here about the register key, i tried to look for it but couldent find it thru regedit nor would it find anything related to steam.exe I tried using windows search for kicks and it cant find steam.exe either. Knowing where it was located, i opend file and whent to check settings local for steam.exe, it has al the relevant allowances, but checking what its acutaly did out of what it was allowed to do showed it couldent read or write or practicly do anything. im stuck......open for suggestions and thanks in advance if u bother to read this.
ZeroHour Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 First things first, did steam used to work fine? How long have you had this problem for?
