I've got a 7 year old server that I need to image up as it's got our old financial database in. Not it's only needed on the rare occasions were they need to refer back to the 4 year old data but I do kind of need to keep it.

So I thought it would be great to use VMWare's converter and player to knock it up as a spare machine. Excellent , and was all going swimmingly until I try and run version 5 on the machine and it tells me it needs XP or greater

So.. any suggestions how I can image it up? I really need to drop the server (sepecially before it falls over) and installing the old financial software somewhere else is somewhat impractical.

Just done a P2V of windows 2000 a couple of weeks ago. You need to use VM converter 4.1 or under as later versions don't support 2000. It also has to have sp2 on the windows 2000 box as well. But other than that it worked a treat.
