PAT Testing and PC Repair

can someone just shed any light on this

 

 

Do we need to PAT Test our equipment after we have repaired a component inside it or be PAT certfied to repair a PC give the fact that the PSU volatage changes from 240v to 12v

PAT testing is not a legal requirement. Its is normally required to be compliant with Insurance so would probably be needed to taken up with the Insurance company as each one has different guidelines.

 

The law says that you need to ensure all equipment is in good working order which supposedly Pat testing helps to ensure. Although a pat test is only accurate while its plugged into the machine.
