Remote Desktop Connection & Xibo

Previously I've used VNC for remote connection but I've now been asked to use Windows Remote Desktop to the machines we are running Xibo on. But I've hit a problem that I assume is because I've not used remote connection in this way before. I want to be able to logon and check that the display is running ok and make any changes if neccessary, but when I log out I want to leave the display running. However, if I use the windows remote desktop I log the current user out so when I've finished the machine will now sit at the logon screen. This is fine when I want to make any changes remotely, but as some of the displays are going to be in areas where people dont want the responsibility of looking after them, I want to be able to log the machine on remotely.

 

Is there a setting I've missed or am I better using something like VNC for remote access without logging the current user out? Currently clients are running WinXP.

Use VNC. The behaviour you describe is normal for remote desktop to a machine that is not a Server/TS/RD Server.

Yeah, I'm just downloading VNC now.

 

It's been a while since I've done any remote access for clients.
