FN-GM Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Hi, I am looking for a screensaver i can setup that will just display images located in a folder on the C drive. I would like to also try and get the screensaver to display on the logon screen if i can. I did look at the Pictures screensaver in W7 but there doesnt seem to be an option to set the location in the registry like there is in XP. Does anyone know anything that could do it please? Thanks
Arthur Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 To create an actual SCR file, I use the Slideshow feature in IrfanView (File » Slideshow)... http://i.imgur.com/4JHeH.png Once you have added all of your images and set the relevant options (loop slideshow, delay, etc.), click the button highlighted above and then save the SCR file somewhere on your HDD. I don't think this works in 7, but in XP I would set the following registry values to display the slideshow at the logon screen... [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] "ScreenSaveTimeOut"="60" "ScreenSaveActive"="1" "ScrnSave.exe"="C:\Slideshow\Photos.scr" 1
FN-GM Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 I never knew that existed! One thing i would like is to randomly position the image on the screen, i am trying to recreate the default Windows XP type screensaver (but using another logo). But beggars cant be choosers! Thanks allot
