Huge User Profile being downloaded.

Hello all again.

 

Server 2008 R2

Workstation XP Pro SP3

Office 2010

 

I have just rebuilt some xp pro workstations

 

I added them to the school domain AOK

 

But when a user logs on their profile is a huge 1.3 gb and obviously takes ages to download.

 

Normally their profile is only a couple of megs if that....

 

The size of the profile is the same as the workstation admin desktop....

See what the "all users" and "default user" profile on the local machine is. If that profile is massive then chances are it's going to cause the users own profile to grow to be quite large as well!

 

Find a user who hasn't yet logged onto the new machine. See how big that users profile is before they log on to the new machine and then again what it is when they've logged off and their profile has finished being uploaded back to the server.

Thanks Sam. I checked the sizes of the "all users" profiles and found out that the size was huge .

 

I have altered the size and everything seems ok now.
