mark80 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Hi All im in a bit of a pickle here, im new to the post of MIS manager at a school and new to CMIS & ePortal but quite knowledgable about database structure/SQL/ Data Analysis I am trying to get an Assessment mapped to ePortal to allow teachers to input KS3 Levels info I have done the following (i appologise if this is wrong way of doing it but this is all self taught): 1) Assessment >> Data >> Assessment Criteria - set all the criteria i need 2) Assessment >> Data >> Assessment Template - copied template from last term and altered Name, Code & Criteria 3) Gone to Examinations & Assessments and gave it a name & code and linked to the template set in step 2 4) Assessment >> Set Up >> Results Entry Control Templates and selected the exam in step 3. Now i login to ePortal and choose the 'Main Menu' and selectec 'Assessments >> Resluts Entry' and choose what i setup in step 4, choose a teaching group and hit submit. Now the problem is i do not see the layout that i created in step2 It seems to me like i may be missing step :?: :?: Sorry for the confusions - Thanks in adavance Mark Oh yea and in true school style i need to be complete by today
AndyCope Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Have you created this today? and then logged into eportal to check it? If so you would need to re-start the eportal services to force through the new templates... otherwise you have followed the correct steps.
mark80 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 i created the template on Friday but to my knowledge ePortal has been running all weekend - i will consult our IT to get the portal restarted to see if that works Will post the outcome but any more suggestions welcome
AndyCope Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 ePortal will have automatically re-started over the weekend so I guess thats not the problem... without looking at the templates etc its not easy to guess what else could be wrong... can you attach a screenshot of eportal with details of what you are expecting to see?>
mark80 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Ok heres what i get The first image image shows the criteria that i have mapped to the assessment The second has no entry cells or headings Obviously the red lines have identifiable info that ive removed Mark
AndyCope Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Hi, from the screen shots, that looks like eportal hasnt imported the templates correctly - id stop and start the eportal services and try again....

mark80 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 thanks a lot for your time m8 i have contacted Serco and they are going to get back to me, i'll inform our IT guys to get an eta on the restart. I will keep you informed Once againg thanks
mark80 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 cheers Andy it was an ePortal issue and the restart added the right template Surely you dont have to restart ePortal everytime you make a change to an assessment??
AndyCope Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Yes you do.... well the system will re-start (or should do) overnight so changes should be fairly seemless.... Re-starts are needed for far fewer changes than previously...
