Mac Clients and Printing

Hi everyone

 

We seem to be having an issue here at the moment with our Mac Clients, we have 20 IMAC's running 10.6 and everything has been going great we use a mac server for locking the machines down and have them joined on the windows server as well for single sign-on and everything has been working fine. The issue i am having is that when i have added a printer to the mac server from our windows print server and then shared this out to the mac clients it works and then doesnt work its touch and go if the prints are sent to the printer.

 

If i go round and logon it prints fine but what happens is we run a print system here were every print is charged so the clients all see the printer off the mac server which when printing checks if the pupil has print credits and then prints but this only seems to work sometimes and then doesnt work other times.

 

Anyone else doing anything similar or could suggest maybe something i have missed at all?

Which print credit system are you using?

print manager plus been using it for a while now but this is first year we have had macs on the network

Ive not used that system, but it should provide some logs that say why the jobs didn't print, or if they even made it as far as the credit system.
