SLG & Sharepoint

Hi all,

 

I am sure that this has been asked before but does anyone have a clear idea of what Sharepoint licences are required for a web-facing sharepoint server hosting only SLG. We have (roughly):

 

2xAdmins

70xStaff

900xStudents

 

I have just been advised by Capita that all we need to purchase is the Sharepoint Licence and a user licence for the 2 people administering it. As much as I would like to believe this is correct I am fairly certain it is not so wondered if anyone here who has gone through the process knows what we need to purchase.

 

If it helps we have no ongoing schools agreement so any CAL's will need to be included.

Sometimes i'm an idiot. Frankly quite abit, you will need Sharepoint CALs for all the users and a Server Licence for the attual server. Thats the way its done under select licencing.

 

I would asume about £20 a CAL and no idea on the server. I have a school agreement.

 

Personally maybe look at doing a Agreement Licence switch over ?

 

I know they might me Satan, but Viglen have a ladie working for them "so even if you don't buy :P" who is a very decent licencing expert. FYI our School Agreement is held with Viglen as the reseller at the mo

cheers for the info! Cant understand why they make it so hard to get this information! Is this the only page on the net which references Sharepoint 'Student' & 'Parent' licences?
