docboggle Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I know that Cat5e cabling is the minimum that should be used now, but what about the patch panel? We are looking at the possibility of getting Ruckus set up throughout the school, and I need to add in an extra patch panel. I have a Cat5 patch panel lying about that I could use, but would using this have any effect on performance? In other words, do I need to buy a new patch panel? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Was just wondering if there was any physical difference, or essentially it's an identical bit of kit with a different sticker on it! In the scheme of things, they aren't that expensive, but don't want to spend money for the sake of it.
