8 Windows 7 64 bit notebooks but 3 won't connect to student's work?

We have eight identicalish Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Toshiba laptops. They are bang up to date with updates but recently 3 of them won't allow students to access their network saved work. Logging on as staff access is fine and the students can access their work on other workstations. Carried out gpupdate /force and everything else I can think of.

 

Scratching a bald patch on my hed over this one. Is it something others have found if so did you solve it?

Further on this - I just removed the local profile of the student and logged him back on and the documents are now accessible. Odd or what?
